A single button announcer talkback box is pictured above. There is only one push button on top. When the push button is depressed the announcers mic is muted on the air circuit and amplified and sent to the talkback out connector on the rear of the box. This same button can be depressed to act as a cough switch. The single button design frees the announcer from making any decisions as to what button to push. (If the announcers desk top position is covered with game fact sheets this simplicity can be helpful to the announcer or if the announcer does not want to deal with technology.) The only negative to the single button box is the fact that when the button is used as a “cough” switch this is heard in the mobile unit monitoring position.
