January 12, 2015 – Texas, USA - Bexel is on hand for ESPN's coverage of the CFP National Championship Game in North Texas, supplying booth boxes to simplify studio connectivity, providing fiber support, and debuting a 24-ft. support truck designed to have equipment already onsite in the event of last-second breakdowns or demands.
"It's something we've been trying to develop for an event like this, as it is easy to forget something [or have something get damaged] and this gives us equipment that is already secure inside the compound and an easy resource," says Joe Wire, VP, sales and account development, Bexel.
Along with the new truck are seven booth boxes that connect the Game Creek production units to the broadcast booths. Located at AT&T Stadium and in Sundance Square in Fort Worth, the units ease the transportation of audio, video, intercom, and IFB signals over long distances.Bexel is also playing a key role in the use of 4K cameras and super zoom. Four Sony F55 4K cameras are capturing images at up to 360 frames per second. Bexel is also providing two 16-channel EVS 458D DreamCatcher replay servers tied to four iMovix 4K cameras shooting along the goal lines and sidelines."One operator can control two cameras," adds Wire. Three fiber technicians also are onsite, overseeing a massive amount of fiber cable and termination equipment at both Sundance Square and AT&T Stadium. The fiber is used to connect the various stages to the Game Creek Video mobile production units.Original story via - By: Ken Kerschbaumer - www.sportvideogroup.org[sc name="news-footer"]
