August 15, 2015 - UK- Bexel Global Broadcast Solutions (BGBS) is eyeing sports and reality productions as it looks to ramp up its flypack and outside broadcast business in the UK.The nascent EMEA operation will use the resources of its established US counterpart to get a running start, with flypacks and other equipment available for deployment from the US, while its UK inventory continues to grow.

“We’ve had very positive feedback and positive engagement from customers over here,” said managing director Richard Satchell “To some extent, we’re still in start-up mode, but unlike other new entrants, we’re in a unique position as we’re able to leverage the scale that we have from Bexel in the US to quickly give us credibility in the UK and European markets.”

The flypack kit is project specific but is built around a core kit that includes Sony MVS 7000 or Grass Valley Kayenne production switchers and Evertz EQX routers, Calrec, Lawo or Yamaha desks for sound and an EVS XT3 server, alongside camera channels including the new Sony HDC-4300.

“There’s no real limit to what we can deliver, only the same limits that apply to our much larger sister company in the US,” said Satchell “Bexel is already used to delivering large international events. The company is able to deliver a much greater level of localization with our service, now with equipment and kits available specifically within the UK.”

BGBS was launched at NAB in April. The company’s EMEA operation is being led from its UK hubs in Twickenham and Byfleet. As part of the Vitec Group, BGBS includes Autocue Hire, Autoscript Hire, Camera Corps and The Camera Store.[sc name="news-footer"]
