Investment enables substantial expansion of fiber optic cable and accessories for booth kits

March 19th, 2018 – Burbank, CA – Bexel, an NEP Broadcast Services Company, has made a significant investment in fiber optic technology in a major expansion of its fiber optic rental inventory. The investment includes a quarter of a million feet of fiber optic cable ranging from TAC-4 to TAC-72 strand cable plus SMPTE camera cable, as well as Multidyne and Studio Technologies fiber transport solutions.

“Fiber optics has long been one of our core specialty offerings and it is also a key area of growth,” said Tom Dickinson, Vice President Technology, Bexel. “We supply custom announce booth kits with fiber solutions that can handle multiple video, audio and data signals. Our latest investment ensures that our customers can utilize a wider variety of cable lengths and strand counts with the combination of signal paths they require, coupled with the high quality and flexibility they expect from Bexel.”

The investment features Multidyne SilverBULLET fiber transport solutions, an economical solution designed for transmission of SD, HD and 3G & 12G SDI signals on single mode fiber. Bexel has also purchased VF9000 fiber transport system with twelve 3G HDSDI and one Ethernet path over two strands of fiber. The VF9000 tray has flexibility for up to 18 signal channels for more complex needs. For conversion and re-conversion back to SMPTE, Multidyne HUT SMPTE to Tactical fiber cable has also been added to Bexel’s “HDX SHED” fiber inventory.Also included in the investment is a Studio Technologies Model 400 SDI-Over-Fiber transport system, with twelve 3G HDSDI paths over four optic cables. A Live-Link Jr remote camera interface supports two paths of 3G HDSDI, Line/IFB and 2 wire or 4 wire Intercom on one or two strands of cable.`

Bexel recently provided fiber optics hardware, cable and engineering for coverage of the NBA All Star Game in Los Angeles, and is currently busy with the Awards season, as well as looking forward to a busy summer supporting a number of international sporting events.
