September 1, 2015 – “I am sure many of you are aware of the horrific shooting of a US television journalist and her cameraman while performing an early morning interview on August 26, 2015. This needless act of violence was made worse as it was captured live and later posted online by the assailant. And in this video, you can clearly see our lights and batteries being used by the cameraman. As a manufacturer of products used by journalists around the world, we accept, and hopefully embrace the thought, that we are not just a manufacturer, but also part of a larger community. And when tragedy hits our community, whether it is gun violence, flood or personal challenge, we act as part of that community with equal measures of compassion, support and resolve to make things better. To honor the memory of journalist Alison Parker and cameraman Adam Ward, Vitec Videocom will make a donation in each of their names to scholarships that are being established by their families and their employer, WDBJ7.” – Matthew Danilowicz CEO Vitec Videocom.
