Fans expect the most encompassing, immersive viewing experience possible, and that includes the graphic on-screen elements inherent in sports coverage. To meet client demand, Bexel Global invested in Vizrt’s technology, ensuring that adequate rental inventory was available to support these broadcasts.

More than simply putting the technology pipeline in place, Bexel Global designed an elegant form factor to work in the high demand setting of the broadcast truck. Joe Wire, vice president of sales and account development at Bexel Global, noted, “Live broadcast trucks are notoriously difficult environments. Often times you are operating in high pressure situations with limited space and time. Vizrt’s software development to enable dual functionality of a playout server and a graphics engine in a single server was really important. It significantly cut down the space required, while providing expanded graphics capabilities. There are extensive racks of gear mounted to the interior walls of a truck, so even increasing space by a few inches is meaningful. We took the one-box set up another step further and built custom racks that were less intrusive. It sounds minor, but it was actually critical to the success of our production support.

“The Vizrt generated graphics were outstanding to use and watch, and they fit perfectly into our efficient pipeline, which was crucial,” concluded Wire. “We delivered an unparalleled experience for the home audience, and we look forward to collaborating with Vizrt on future Bexel Global projects.”
