BTN came to Bexel Global in September, looking for the latest in super slo-mo camera technology to expand their palette of game covering options. “Northwestern at the University of Michigan was a high profile game for BTN in October,” says Julia Rodgers, strategic accounts manager for Bexel. “They were interested in two super slo-mo camera systems, and we went with the Grass Valley LDX 86, which they had previous experience with. It’s a 6X super slo-mo camera, and it’s perfect for slow-motion applications. Adding the super slo-mo cameras provides the producers with added technology that really helps to tell the story. They were very pleased with the quality of the coverage.”

After the success of the October broadcast, BTN came back to Bexel Global to rent the two systems for three additional games played November 14th at Iowa, November 21st at Wisconsin, and November 28th at Minnesota. “The super slo-mo cameras are a fantastic production addition to football broadcasts,” concludes Rodgers. “From a replay perspective, these cameras just add so much, especially when going in and out of breaks, on close plays, and for scoring plays. For the first few games, BTN used their own EVS servers. The last two games we supplied them with a Grass Valley K2 Dyno server. Everything went very smoothly for all four games, and we look forward to our further collaboration with the Big Ten Network.”[sc name="news-footer"]
